Samra Adeni is Manager of Communications at King Philanthropies. Previously, as a Teach For America corps member, she taught elementary school for three years in Washington, D.C. She also worked for Ashoka Changemaker Schools and for an Ashoka initiative called Start Empathy, and she served as a policy and advocacy fellow at Leadership for Educational Equity. Previously, as part of her work for an undergraduate honors thesis, she studied post-colonialism, race, and gender in India; her article on that subject was published in the Columbia South Asia Review. Samra holds a B.A. in international relations from Stanford University and an M.S. in education from Johns Hopkins University.
