GLOBAL SCHOLARS

King Scholars at Dartmouth College

The King Scholars Program provides exceptional students from low-income countries with a full scholarship to Dartmouth College. King Scholars come from low-income backgrounds and plan ultimately to return to their home country, where they can act as a force for change.

The program goes well beyond a conventional scholarship by offering participants a vibrant, well-rounded university experience. Robust support from Dartmouth College and King Philanthropies enables them to navigate the challenges of cross-cultural college life. Key elements of the program—academic and personal mentoring, leadership training, access to internship opportunities, and connection to global leaders in the field of poverty alleviation—create the conditions for King Scholars to thrive.

The King Scholars Program was established at Dartmouth College in 2012. The program funds a total of twenty-four promising young people each year through a $36 million gift from King Philanthropies.
